Samburu National Reserve is one of the lesser-known national parks but is nevertheless teeming with life. Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty to attract wildlife from the surrounding savannah plains. The Samburu National Reserve is a game reserve on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River in Kenya. On the other side of the river is the Buffalo Springs National Reserve. The park is 165 sq km in size and is situated 350 kilometres from Nairobi.

Itinerary

Depart Nairobi in the morning to Samburu at the North rugged Semi desert region, though harsh, it contains some of the species rarely found elsewhere e.g. reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebra, kuchi, Beisa oryx’s, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, vulturine, guinea fowl among others. Arrive in time for lunch then have an afternoon game drive. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the lodge.
