Itinerary
You'll meet at your hotel in Dar es Salaam at 05:30 am and transfer to Mikumi NP.
Our tour driver will drive you from Dar–es- Salaam to Mikumi National Park. This journey will take about 5 to 6 hours and you will stop for lunch in Morogoro Town.
What will you see during game drive in Mikumi NP?
At this park, you will get an opportunity to see the most fascinating animals such as huge African elephants, king of the jungle lion, wild dogs, zebras, giraffes, impalas, hyena, buffalo, wildebeest, one of the biggest antelope in the world, elands, hartebeest, crocodiles, lizards, and other residents. The park also has over 300 species of birds that have been observed.
Later, you will exit the park towards Camp Bastian lodge for dinner and your overnight relaxation.

Enjoy a great start to your day two inside the park as you go for morning game drives which are fantastic for spotting the hard-to-find game animals such as lions and hyenas.
Mikumi National Park has over time progressed to be a wildlife safari destination filled with amazing activities. Located 283 km west of Dar es Salaam, the park was established in 1964 and up to now is widely considered the country’s 4th largest national park.
Lunch will be served inside the national park. In the afternoon, you will exit the park and go to Camp Bastian Lodge for your overnight and dinner. The food is good here and they are generally one of the better places to stay at Mikumi. As such they are usually fully booked, we advise you to plan your booking at least a few days before the actual safari to enable us to get you a room here. Accommodation alternatives are available in case they're required and your price will be adjusted accordingly if you select to stay at another lodge or hotel.

You will start the day with a cultural visit to a local Maasai village in Mikumi. If time allows, we'll pass by the local women's market. The Maasai are a popular traditional tribe in Tanzania and Kenya. This trip is optional so those rushing to make the journey back to Zanzibar can opt out of this cultural visit. Kindly let us know during booking.

This safari focuses on Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire National Park, which are known for their unique wildlife and landscapes. While the Great Migration is not part of this itinerary, it offers diverse wildlife experiences.
The best time for this safari depends on your preferences. May to October is generally considered the dry season, ideal for wildlife viewing. However, other times of the year offer unique experiences, such as the lush greenery in the wet season.
Packing recommendations include comfortable clothing, layers for varying temperatures, sturdy walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, a camera, and binoculars. Detailed packing guidelines will be provided upon booking.
Travellers should check the visa requirements for Tanzania based on their nationality. Visa fees are not included in the trip cost, and it’s the responsibility of each traveller to obtain the necessary visas.
While travel insurance is not mandatory, we strongly recommend it. Travel insurance can provide coverage for trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and unexpected events.
